A Baker's Dozen's Dozen

Yea, we know that title didn't make sense but Fear does.  Fear is a word that makes sense and since it's a Monday and the seesaw of attendees versus bakers is leaning heavily on one side,  we're starting to freak out a little bit (ok, a lotta bit).  The last thing we want to happen is what happened to CupcakeCamp NYC this past April. We must reiterate that this is a community effort.  Although we'd love to bake 1000 cupcakes each, we know it would be unfair to those of you who would love the opportunity to bake and show off your tasty goods!  Plus you would quickly grow bored of one flavor and its frosting (because that is all the time I have!   I can't speak for my twin but I'm pretty sure she's in the same boat!).  So please, we implore you, we are begging you, look into your hearts!  Ask your moms, your lovely grannies, your neighbors and your frenemies to bake it all out!  Please, we don't want a Clustercuss on CupcakeCamp!

Frosting windows and countertops!

Hullo, fans! We've been busy about town and we have the blisters to prove it! Thank you to all the stores/shops who have allowed us to frost their windows and countertops!  If you have any other places that allow posters/postcards, please let us know.

Flyering

We were able to drop off flyers on King street this past Monday.  We had help from one of our feature bakers and feel really blessed and grateful for the lovely Tara's help.  Pictures are up on our facebook page!  This weekend we're headed to Mt. Pleasant, Summerville and downtown again.  Tomorrow we'll be headed to North Charleston and West Ashley.  Please let us know where there are cupcake friendly places that will let us flyer and postcard their fine establishments!

Love to love you, babies!

Postcards/Posters

This weekend and beyond we are going to gallivant (seriously, our mom uses that word) around town with posters and postcards.  We've got a list as to where to go but we welcome your ideas of where we should distribute these cuppies.  Email us at cupcakecampcharleston@gmail.com.

(C)Updates!

We met with the wonderstars at Aloft Charleston to discuss set up areas and golly gosh, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place.  They are unabashedly accommodating and gracious.  We love you, Aloft!!

Here is a breakdown of what is going to take place:

1. Cupcaketinis & milk will be available at the bar.
2. Bakers' competition will take place outside on the lovely patio.
3. Plenty of parking, yay!
4. Cupcakes will be displayed in the center area with two tiers, rotating every 5-10 minutes.
5. Local vendors will be set up in a central area, too.  Support your local indies, yo.

Here is what we still need, please?

1. Cupcakes!
2. Volunteers
3. Bakers
4. Eaters

Please register online or email us at cupcakecampcharleston@gmail.com.

Registration Deadline Changes

We decided to change the deadlines.  You may now register your cupcakes on the day of the event, November 6, 2010 by 3 pm.   You may also enter the cupcake competition that same day.   However, if you like to plan ahead, we would appreciate hearing from you in advance (see Registration form) so that we can prepare for all the cupcake space.
